Roca Tranquila was built by Baron Killisch Von Horn in 1955 on one of the largest and most unspoiled plots in the area of Fuengirola. The estate was majestically situated in the hills on the west coast of the Costa del Sol with an impressive view to the Mediterranean Sea. The Baron lived the majority of his life in the property and the current estate has maintained many original and elegant details.

In 1998, Bent Jorgensen a former restaurant chef and front-person of culinary TV-programs in Denmark and Marianne, his wife, fell in love with the historic heritage of the estate, the surrounding nature and ideal location near Malaga. Roca Tranquila was purchased from the aging Baron and completely restored as a residence for the Jorgensen family.

The dream of building a gastronomic mecca in Andalusia quickly began to develop in the family and the ambitious development project was started in 2006 to be finished three years later in 2009.

The estate was completely restored with distinct focus on keeping original Andalusian house style details, while having stringent focus on meeting the highest Scandinavian quality standards. Roca Tranquila restaurant opened for business in 2008 and was operated till 2011. Accepted in the Michelin Guide in 2009, 2010 and 2011- with the prospects of receiving a Michelin star in 2011.

For personal reasons, the Jorgensen family decided to close Roca Tranquila as a restaurant in 2011.

A new owner will be able to realize his own vision with Roca Tranquila. Opportunities include a Gourmet Restaurant, Boutique Hotel and /or as a Private Mansion.
